Foundation Supports Foster Parent Recruitment Campaign

of Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC speak about D.C. foster care.
The campaign aims to increase foster homes in the District particularly for brothers and sisters and for foster youth ages 12 to 21. The T.V. announcements feature Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC and D.C. foster Mom Phyllis Wilson. McDaniels was adopted from foster care as a child. Wilson has been a foster parent to seven D.C. children in the past three years, six of whom were reunited with family, and is in the process of adopting a little boy. Her grown children are training to become licensed foster parents as well.
The effort is a partnership with D.C.'s Child and Family Services Agency and the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
