FREDDIE MAC FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANT TO HEALTHY FAMILIES HOWARD COUNTY FOR FIFTH YEAR
Columbia, MD – More than 2,750 families have benefited from Healthy Families Howard County (HFHC) since the program began in November 2001. Administered by Howard County General Hospital in partnership with Family and Children's Services of Central Maryland, HFHC provides first-time parents in Howard County with educational and emotional support to ease the transition through pregnancy and into the first five years of parenthood.
For the fifth consecutive year, Healthy Families has received a $100,000 grant from the Freddie Mac Foundation. The grant is used to fund the operational costs of the program.
"We are extremely appreciative of the continued support provided by the Freddie Mac Foundation. Their grant allows us to provide vital services to the new parents in our community and make a difference," said Cindi Miller, Director of Community Health Education at Howard County General Hospital and HFHC Project Director.
